The Well is thrilled to welcome Swiss guitarist Philipp Zuercher and local favorite Jay Sanders.
Philipp Zuercher plays original compositions and improvisations, using idiosyncratic rhythms and harmonies. In the late 1980s he was one of the first electric guitarists in Switzerland to make live loops an integral part of his solo repertoire — inspired by Christy Doran. In his work he is juxtaposes progressive rock, modal jazz and modern classical music. As a soloist he has performed in Switzerland, England and the USA.

Jay Sanders is an Asheville-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer.

Philipp Zuercher plays original instrumental compositions and improvisations, juxtaposing progressive rock, modal jazz, modern classical and electronic music. Philipp was born in 1970. He got some very early tuition in rhythmics and classical violin. Later, he studied electric guitar, keyboards and music theory at the Swiss Jazz School et al. Subsequently he followed two lines of business simultaneously: training and working as an instrument maker, while keeping on composing and performing instrumental and electroacoustic music. As a soloist, he has toured Switzerland, England and the USA. For the last 17 years, he has been teaching electric guitar at Guerbetal Music School, Bern, Switzerland
