Men's Transformational Breathwork with Banks Anderson
**We will now be having Breathwork at The Well in West Asheville**
We call this a coming home to ourselves.
We gather in honor of giving way for our humanity. Men are faced with the unachievable pressures of assuming perfection in the realms of work and finances, emotions, fatherhood, and in relationship. Trying to embrace the "perfect" form of what it means to be a man only enables a broken system.
Here we learn to welcome our fallibilities, our shame, our mistakes, our grief, our shadows, and so on... while celebrating in our victories. We turn towards our whole system that gives us the ability to inhabit our authenticity, rather than deny it.We do this together. No more suffering in silence.
This breath practice is used as a way to move through an experience together and overcome challenges, to strengthen and deepen the ties of brotherhood in our community.
This practice has been adapted specifically for the gathering of men, to inspire the warrior within us to create and hold a container for the softness within our hearts. We believe the truth of a healthy warrior lies in his ability to deeply feel and experience suffering as well as the beauty in life, therefore being crystal clear on what he stands for and what he protects.
We will arrive together, create a group organism, use poetry as a medium to deepen into ourselves, experience the practice, and have an integration circle following.
To get more out of the breathwork practice it is recommended to not eat at least an hour and a half beforehand. Food is welcome during our integration circle. If you have asthma or specific heart conditions please reach out to Banks before joining. There will be light snacks provided to support grounding after the experience.
Your Guide:
Banks Anderson is a gifted facilitator specializing in breathwork, men’s work, and bodywork. Growing up around an immensity of suffering in men while also experiencing his own rock bottom with nowhere to turn, a fire was lit in Banks to find another way. After founding a local men’s movement in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, he is now expanding his impact to our greater community. With years of experience guiding men toward greater integrity, connection, and honesty, Banks brings a unique blend of wisdom, vulnerability, and strength to his work that creates a container to help men descend into their depths and return with their true nature intact. Banks’ prayer is to support men with their attachment and development while weaving them back into a life of soul.

IMPORTANT: Please arrive on time! Doors close at 15 minutes after event start time. Bring a cushion to sit on.

Appalachian Healing Collective
Healing happens whether we are offering it or receiving it!
Join us for these special events in which we gather and focus our healing intentions and modalities on one or two people at a time within a group dynamic/intelligence. Whether you offer instrumental sound, reiki, laying of the hands, song, voice/mantra/affirmations, or simply presence–you are the gift of healing someone needs or even requests! And in turn, you will receive what you need from the menagerie of gifts that appear for a minimum of twenty minutes.
As healers, many of us loveLoveLOVE to offer our gifts. Oftentimes, we don’t get or think to receive in turn. This is a profound opportunity to do both, while sinking/synching into sound, community, presence, and the ultimate unraveling of the Unknown!
We have instruments that you are welcome to play such as crystal bowls, drums, handpans, rainsticks, etc. We end with fellowship over food. We ask that you bring food to share if you’re inspired and it’s easy.
No previous healer/musical experience necessary.
We ask for a sliding scale donation of $25-$50.
Facilitated by Randi Janelle of Liminal Yoga and EarthHeart Healing and Wolfgang Ettenreich of The Luminous Now and Sound Voyagers.
Cheers,
Wolfgang & Randi

From previous Cannabis Circle events:
"Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive if this was going to be a psychedelic experience; but this has totally changed my view. Prior to this event, my relationship with cannabis was recreational, like most. But the set, setting and ceremony for this circle created a VERY incredible experience. If you are looking to have a new relationship with this medicine, and a very different experience, this circle is for you." - Brian
"I really enjoyed the Conscious Cannabis Event. The guidance of the facilitators and the sound journey was quite powerful.
I valued the space that was created for the event with some light ceremonial aspects which helped focus the intention for the experience.
Having only worked with cannabis recreationally years ago, I was surprised by how powerful of an experience I had and it opened my eyes and heart to a new and more conscious way for me to work with this medicine in the future.
I would highly recommend this experience for someone looking to dive deeper into themselves with a safe and intentional space to do so."

Root & Rise: Bridging Ancient Wisdom for the Emerging Human
Register here.
Join us in Asheville, NC for a monthly in person gathering that invites ancient wisdom and intuition to find a home inside modern evolving humans.
We live in bodies that are still wired for tribe, ritual, and rhythm. But let’s be real, most people don’t have a place to experience that on a regular basis.
Root + Rise is remembering that older way of being human, made relevant and accessible for your busy modern reality.
This container is designed to help you remember…
That your body already holds the intelligence to heal.
That your emotions are an energetic wave meant to move.
And that the wisdom traditions humans have leaned on for thousands of years still work (and can work for you where you are now.)
Every Month Is a New Experience
We don’t repeat the same format twice. Each gathering is fresh, shaped by the season, the astrology, what’s alive in the collective field, and what wants to come through both of us as facilitators.
You’ll experience a unique session exploring your inner world guided by our tools of presence:
Shamanic journeywork — an ancient practice led by drum and rattle, opening non-ordinary states of consciousness
Somatic movement practice — instead of talking or thinking about what you feel, you let your body express and release it directly
Ceremonial cacao — our heart-opening plant ally that softens the body and opens the emotional field so that we can go deeper
Transformational Group Coaching — receive personalized guidance, while being seen and held by the community. You’ll come away with clarity and confidence to take the next step.
Yoga Nidra — a guided descent into deep rest where the nervous system finally gets to stop performing and simply be
Gene Keys Contemplation — dive into teachings from humanity’s most important living wisdom system, all contained in your own DNA
Sound, Song, Story, & Connection — we’re leaving space for magic from the Universe to surprise us and you with innovative ways to heal and grow in community
The container and commitment is consistent: Two hours every month where we help you come home to your body, your emotions, and your own inner wisdom. What changes is the medicine we use to get you there.
Who This Is For…
Root + Rise is for you if:
You’re craving embodiment, not just more information. You’ve read the books, done the therapy, and you’re ready for practices that work through direct experience
You feel most yourself in ritual, ceremony, and circle and you miss having a regular place to return to that feeling of belonging and being known
You’re already familiar with expanded states (through psychedelics, breathwork, meditation, or other spiritual growth practices) and want an ongoing container to keep integrating and deepening
You want a monthly rhythm of grounding and release, rather than a single big experience you have to plan your whole life around
You’re drawn to ancient wisdom traditions and want to experience them held responsibly, with care, and in community

SANCTUARY — The Vibration of Autumn–Sacred Sound Journey with Mark Biehl
SANCTUARY–The Vibration of Autumn–Sacred Sound Journey with Mark Biehl
Mark Biehl presents a unique sound blessing ceremony to welcome the season of Fall, and inspire us to gracefully move through our own seasonal process by letting go of what no longer serves us and embracing change. Allow the deep vibrational energies of over twenty beautifully tuned Himalayan singing bowls, indigenous flutes, medicine drumming, rattles and shakers, gongs, chimes and vocal mantra to guide us through clearing and release, as we plant seeds to begin a new path of personal growth and transformation.
Autumn begins the onset of shorter days, the harvesting of crops, and a time to prepare for the winter ahead. The element of metal that represents autumn, is found abundantly in singing bowls from the Himalayas, and is a symbol of refinement and inner strength. The season of Fall encourages us to make use of everything that is necessary and pure, and to eliminate those things or qualities that are wasteful and no longer necessary.
"Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go."
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, and eye covering (optional). Dress comfortably and bring some water to drink. It's preferable not to eat for an hour prior.
**Space is limited–Register early to secure your spot!
Bio:
Mark Biehl, CVSC, LSHC lifelong musician and composer, is the founder of Acuity Soundworks®, dedicated to the development and presentation of music and sound to inspire creative thought and action. Mark is a Certified Vibrational Sound Coach and Licensed Spiritual Health Coach. He has received training in Primordial Sound Meditation, Traditional Shamanic Sound Practices with Zacciah Blackburn of the Center of Light Institute, and Certification in Sound Healing with Himalayan Singing Bowls from Nepalese Master Teacher Suren Shrestha. He has over twenty years’ experience in sound healing, and offers both private and group sound sessions. Mark believes in the idea that sound creates a gateway into deeper levels of consciousness, the heart, and soul. As a result, he utilizes various sound tools and the voice in conjunction with his spiritual health coaching skills and positive intention to gently support beneficial shifts in our perspective on life.
Mark's Sanctuary Sound Journey program is a deeply relaxing and mentally uplifting experience featuring the sounds and vibrations of over twenty Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, indigenous flutes, drumming and the voice. His program also includes various breathing techniques designed to bring participants into a more focused and balanced state, and guided readings featuring topics that encourage mindfulness and provide inspiration. Sanctuary is intended to take participants deep into stillness of mind, body and spirit. The breathwork and guided meditation work as a kind of staircase leading everyone into a progressively more relaxed state, culminating in a lengthy sound immersion with Tibetan singing bowls, melodic and percussive instruments, mantra chant and ambient atmospheres.

About the event
🦁Lions Gate Portal Sound Healing Journey-Manifest Your Dreams Here with active Prayer and Sound Healing
What is Lions Gate Portal: An annual astrological event that occurs when the Sun is in Leo (the sign represented by the lion) and the star Sirius rises in the sky, aligning with the Earth and Orion's Belt. This event typically peaks on August 8th (8/8) and is believed to be a time of increased cosmic energy, spiritual awakening, transformation, A time when the fixed Star Sirius rises
⭐Sirius Rising: Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, becomes visible again after a period of being hidden by the Sun’s glare. In ancient Egypt, this event was associated with the flooding of the Nile and considered a time of rebirth and renewal.
8️⃣Numerology: The date 8/8 is considered significant in numerology, where the number 8 represents balance, infinite loops, and the manifestation of abundance and power.
↩️Energetic Gateway: The alignment is believed to open a powerful energetic gateway that enhances spiritual insights, personal growth, and the ability to manifest intentions.
We will begin by honoring this celestial event by setting our intentions for manifesting our wishes, dreams, and desires into a slow burning altar allowing our intentions to be blessed by the sun and fire, then we prepare to somatically integrate our intentions into a somatic sound healing experience that will permeate your entire being, Then, Then a 44 minute sound journey begins with gongs, crystal bowls, chimes, hand pan, kalimba, crystal triangles including many hand held healing instruments that will be hovered over your body for personal alchemization. After the journey lands, we will share experiences and seal it with an offering to the sun.
David Heiss specializes in Self-Discovery using sound alchemy though blending unique sounds with instruments including many gongs, crystal bowls, and other abstract sounding pieces creating a abstract symphony of sound overtones to create a healing restorative experience. He has been working with stars and sounds, AKA Gongs and Astrology since 2012. His intention is to create a space through sound to help you realize more of who you are.
What do we do during a sound healing? Just lay down or sit and meditate on the sounds. Let them take you on a journey into your own being. A time to relax into yourself. It's a right brain, passive experience that lasts about 1 hour.

Uranus in Gemini--The Free and Future Mind
Uranus recently entered Gemini and will transit that sign until 2023. The break of Uranus from the firm grip of Taurus into the free air of Gemini reflects a profound shift of ideals, social values and societal reforms. As this transit progresses, we will be challenged to break free from what we think we know, opening our mental horizons to new ways of relating to the world and the people in it. Past historical examples show the surprising dynamism, breakdown and politically progressive victory that are common during this transit.
Join us for an enlivening discussion where we will explore the history, psychology and symbolism of Uranus in Gemini. We will reflect on what this transit may mean for us individually as well as collectively, to fuel our faith in a better world to come.

✨ Star Sounds: A Sound Healing Journey with David Heiss
Reserve your spot HERE for $22 and up…thank you, your support makes these events possible.
An immersive experience of Astrology & Sound Alchemy
Step into an evening where cosmic intelligence meets vibrational healing.
We begin with a grounded yet intuitive transmission of the current astrological landscape—translating what’s happening in the sky into real guidance for navigating your life right now.
From there, you’ll be guided into a deep, multidimensional sound journey.
Surrounded by the resonance of multiple gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, handpan, and other harmonic instruments, your body becomes the receiver… and the field begins to shift.
This is not just something you hear—
it’s something you feel, something you enter.
🔊 The Experience
As the gong waves move through you:
The nervous system begins to downshift and unwind
The mind softens, releasing control
The body opens into deep cellular resonance
Stagnant energy begins to move, release, and reorganize
Many describe the experience as entering a dreamlike, timeless state—
where insight, emotion, and clarity arise naturally from within.
The sound doesn’t guide you somewhere else…
it brings you deeper into yourself.
🌌 Why This Now
2026 is not a passive year—it’s a threshold.
We are being asked to trust ourselves at a deeper level, to move without certainty, and to listen inward more than ever before.
Sound—especially the gong—has a unique ability to bypass the thinking mind and reconnect you with your own internal guidance system.
This journey is an opportunity to:
Reset your energetic field
Reconnect with your intuition
Realign with your inner rhythm
🌀 What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing works through vibrational resonance.
The rich, non-linear overtones of instruments like the gong interact directly with the body’s energetic and physical systems—supporting:
Relaxation and nervous system regulation
Emotional release
Energetic clearing and activation
Expanded states of awareness
You don’t need to “do” anything—
simply lie down, receive, and allow.
Price is by Donation starting at $22. Please give what you can.
You can Donate with credit card here or at Vemno @Starsounds

ENM Community Gathering
A Community Gathering*
*For people that identify as ENM.
(Ethically Non-Monogamous).
This gathering is for building community, getting relationship support, and learning more about ENM, Polyamory, and Relationship Anarchy.
WNC Polyamorous and ENM is an Asheville based community dedicated to normalizing Ethical Non-Monogamy by creating a strong community, supporting each other’s personal growth, and sharing knowledge and experiences with each other.
This event is open to the public, but we request that anyone in attendance be ENM, considering ENM, or in a relationship with someone that is ENM. *Bringing a friend or family member with you (who is not ENM) with the intention of normalizing it, is allowed.
This group does our best to offer non- judgmental support and advice for those navigating this journey. There are no experts here with the “right” answer. What we offer is simply the benefit of our personal experiences and combined knowledge.
We facilitate a variety of events through out the year to help build connections and friendships.
*Please note that this environment is meant to be a safe space to learn about ENM and to build community, not a dating event. That being said, we do encourage organically formed relationships of all kinds, with enthusiastic consent of course.

Jennifer Evelyn

Film Screening: Santa Sangre by Alejandro Jodorowsky
"I ask of film what most North Americans ask of psychedelic drugs. The difference being that when one creates a psychedelic film, he need not create a film that shows the visions of a person who has taken a pill; rather, he needs to manufacture the pill." – Alejando Jodorowsky
Surrealist. Provocateur. Heretic. These are but a few of the many superlatives utilized to describe Chilean filmmaker and maestro of the bizarre Alejando Jodorowsky. Director of such cult classics as EL TOPO, THE HOLY MOUNTAIN, and an unrealized adaptation of DUNE that would’ve been the most audacious and expensive film in the history of movies, Jordorowsky, who began his career as a mime and the co-founder of the performance art collective The Panic Movement, bravely follows in the footsteps of such surrealist masters as Luis Bunuel, Fernando Arrabal, and Man Ray. On July 17th at 7:30 pm, THE WELL and Michael Wheeler, local film programmer and host of the Fine Arts Theatre’s Wheeler Wednesday series, will proudly present his 1989 magnum opus SANTA SANGRE in a one-time-only limited capacity screening.
SANTA SANGRE, a psychedelic slasher film co-written by Claudio Argento (Dario Argento’s younger brother), is a madcap co-production between Mexico and Italy and thematically takes on oppression, religion, the circus, and mental illness in a florid and lavish way unseen previously by denizens of any genre. Violent, transgressive, and downright funny, Jordorowsky’s masterpiece is a one of a kind overwhelming experience that leaves viewers - first-timers and repeat offenders alike - in a paralytic haze and fugue state of uneasiness. Roger Ebert, legendary critic of The Chicago Sun-Times, defined it as "a horror film, one of the greatest, and after waiting patiently through countless Dead Teenager Movies, I am reminded by Alejandro Jodorowsky that true psychic horror is possible on the screen – horror, poetry, surrealism, psychological pain, and wicked humor, all at once."
Come see for yourself if the hyperbole holds it own (it does). Tickets are $10 (if a lack of funds is an issue, we will not be turning anyone away regardless) and available online or at THE WELL proper. Remember that this is a one-time-only event and that there are LIMITED seating options. We’re excited to kick off this series of monthly screenings with something truly unique!

What we know here as “bellydance” is based in a wide variety of cultural art forms, that share some common aspects. Internal movement, isolations, smooth travel, hip articulation and fluidity are some of these aspects. Come find where this movement art moves you, and free your hips to shimmy and your arms to flow. Lift your heart and breathe deep. We will explore dancing as part of a full life and connect you to a joyful artform.

Community Drum Class w/ Larry McDowell
Larry McDowell has been teaching hand drumming in the Asheville area for decades and is a loved and respected fixture of our local drumming scene. He believes in the power of drumming to create positive change in ourselves, our communities and our world! Larry is generously lending his skills to teach a free community drum class every Monday at The Well. While classes are free, donations of any amount are VERY gratefully accepted to help with expenses and be able to continue to provide these classes. Bring a drum or use one that is provided. These classes are perfect for beginner and intermediate students. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Community Kirtan and Song Circle
Join Us for a Community Kirtan and Song Circle!
Experience the joy and connection of kirtan, a heart-centered gathering where we come together to sing devotional chants in a call-and-response format. Rooted in ancient traditions, kirtan uses the power of music and mantra to quiet the mind, uplift the spirit, and create a sense of unity.
Accompanied by instruments like the harmonium, drums, and guitar, we’ll share an evening of soulful melodies and shared energy. Open to everyone, regardless of musical experience or spiritual background, this event offers a welcoming space to connect, reflect, and let the power of sound open your heart. Come as you are—leave feeling refreshed and inspired. Bring a song or mantra to share!
Sound Bath & Reiki w/James & Karen

Suggested donation $10-20+.
James is a musician and composer with 25 years of experience using sound as catalyst for altering consciousness, healing, and accessing visionary states.
Karen has been a practitioner of massage and bodywork, reiki and trauma release for over 16 years. In these sessions, she will be working to identify energetic blockages and encourage the body to heal.

You can learn more about her work here: https://www.rebeccaschoenecker.com
Cost: Tarot Club is a recommended donation of $20, although no one will be turned away for lack of funds. You can pay in person with cash, Venmo, or Zelle.
Bring: A tarot deck, journal, and any magical items (crystals, talismans) that you find helpful.
We look forward to journeying through the tarot with you! All skill levels welcome.
