The Living Zodiac: Myth, Music, and Meaning Through the Signs

Each month, as the Sun moves into a new astrological sign, we gather — and step into the mythic realm. Through story, enactment, art, and shared reflection, The Living Zodiac helps you discover your personal relationship to each astrological sign — from the inside out.

I Exist! Headfirst into Aries

We begin with Aries — the one who erupts into existence and stakes its claim: I exist. Headfirst. Fearless. Unapologetic. The ram. The warrior. The first spark. The one who acts — especially in the face of danger.

We may encounter Chrysomallos the Golden Ram, the goddess Athena, and Jason with his Argonauts — guides to the mystery of the first spark of life, and the first spark in each one of us.
Facilitated by Meghna Bhagat. Original live music by James Genaro.

Wyrding Women’s Rhythmic Immersion: Frame Drum for Beginners and Beyond with Brandi Mizilca

Wyrding Women's Rhythmic Immersion

Frame Drumming for Beginners and Beyond

with Brandi Mizilca

Come learn the fundamentals of frame drumming with long time professional dancer, drummer, musician, artist, and healing arts practitioner, Brandi Mizilca.

Rhythm is the sacred pulse that animates our bodies, our societies, our planet, and the cosmos beyond.

Drumming is an ancient technology for tapping into that sacred pulse to cultivate harmonious communities, connect with divinity, and calm or catalyze our hearts and minds. Drumming provides structure and support for melodies and excites our bodies to dance. Drumming is the intersection of math and magic and exquisitely lights up both sides of our brains. In these classes, we will immerse ourselves in rhythm in all these ways and more, utilizing our bodies, our voices, and instruments.

This class is for female and female-identifying humans for the sake of exploring the art of playing frame drums, regulating our inner rhythms, and liberating our voices in all the ways we may need to do. You are invited to break centuries of silence by making beautiful,

bold sound with other wyrding women at The Well.

MONDAYS, 12:30pm – 2pm

March 23 – April 27, 2026

Six class series $120/ person. There must be a minimum of ten enrollees for this series to run.

To enroll, please contact Brandi Mizilca at karunacaravan@gmail.com

Brandi Mizilca is a lifelong lover and student of music, dance, art, ritual, and immersion in the natural world. Her curious nature has taken her down many paths of learning and her creative impetus is perpetually to weave these passions together. Her professional experiences include being a dancer, musician, Alaskan wilderness guide, commercial organic farmer, gallery-featured painter, published writer, yoga and dance instructor, festival and workshop organizer, graphic artist, videographer, and a licensed massage therapist. In the late 90's, after spending five years in Alaska, she lived and studied at Touchstone Farm, a sacred movement community and flower/herb farm in Massachusetts; and, her liberal arts studies at Vermont College were centered around tracking the cross-cultural evolution of sacred movement practices over thousands of years of human history.

Upon moving to North Carolina in 1999 to live at Earthaven Ecovillage, Brandi Mizilca became an integral part of the world music and dance community of Asheville. She has taught and performed locally and throughout the US in various ensembles as both a dancer and musician, especially in the artistic traditions of the Mediterranean, Middle East, and North Africa. For over twenty years she performed regularly at Jerusalem Garden Cafe in downtown Asheville as both a dancer and musician. She has been performing percussive music from south central Africa with Chikomo Marimba for the past eight years and has been religiously studying frame drum, darbuka, and tambourine with River Guerguerian since the early 2000's, as well as with other instructors. She works in various capacities with the local organization, Asheville Rhythm, whose mission is to foster connection for players of diverse backgrounds and skill levels through drumming, in partnership with expert local and guest instructors. Her goal as a teacher is to joyfully offer keys for understanding music via many lenses so that her students can find their way into the structure of pulse and sound and empower the music within them to find its way out. These classes will explore percussion from both sides of the brain and the use of rhythm as a mechanism of music as well as a technology for expanding consciousness and cultivating connection.

Men's Transformational Breathwork with Banks Anderson

Men's Transformational Breathwork with Banks Anderson

**We will now be having Breathwork at The Well in West Asheville**

We call this a coming home to ourselves.

We gather in honor of giving way for our humanity. Men are faced with the unachievable pressures of assuming perfection in the realms of work and finances, emotions, fatherhood, and in relationship. Trying to embrace the "perfect" form of what it means to be a man only enables a broken system.

Here we learn to welcome our fallibilities, our shame, our mistakes, our grief, our shadows, and so on... while celebrating in our victories. We turn towards our whole system that gives us the ability to inhabit our authenticity, rather than deny it.We do this together. No more suffering in silence.

This breath practice is used as a way to move through an experience together and overcome challenges, to strengthen and deepen the ties of brotherhood in our community.

This practice has been adapted specifically for the gathering of men, to inspire the warrior within us to create and hold a container for the softness within our hearts. We believe the truth of a healthy warrior lies in his ability to deeply feel and experience suffering as well as the beauty in life, therefore being crystal clear on what he stands for and what he protects.

We will arrive together, create a group organism, use poetry as a medium to deepen into ourselves, experience the practice, and have an integration circle following.

To get more out of the breathwork practice it is recommended to not eat at least an hour and a half beforehand. Food is welcome during our integration circle. If you have asthma or specific heart conditions please reach out to Banks before joining. There will be light snacks provided to support grounding after the experience.

Your Guide:

Banks Anderson is a gifted facilitator specializing in breathwork, men’s work, and bodywork. Growing up around an immensity of suffering in men while also experiencing his own rock bottom with nowhere to turn, a fire was lit in Banks to find another way. After founding a local men’s movement in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, he is now expanding his impact to our greater community. With years of experience guiding men toward greater integrity, connection, and honesty, Banks brings a unique blend of wisdom, vulnerability, and strength to his work that creates a container to help men descend into their depths and return with their true nature intact. Banks’ prayer is to support men with their attachment and development while weaving them back into a life of soul.

==========================================

IMPORTANT: Please arrive on time! Doors close at 15 minutes after event start time. Bring a cushion to sit on.
Payment: Sliding scale of $20-60
Please Venmo: @banksanderson87 to secure your spot.
If finances are in the way of you joining us we still want you there - we ask that you reach out to Banks to speak about it beforehand.

ENM Community Gathering

A Community Gathering*

*For people that identify as ENM.

(Ethically Non-Monogamous).

This gathering is for building community, getting relationship support, and learning more about ENM, Polyamory, and Relationship Anarchy.

WNC Polyamorous and ENM is an Asheville based community dedicated to normalizing Ethical Non-Monogamy by creating a strong community, supporting each other’s personal growth, and sharing knowledge and experiences with each other.

This event is open to the public, but we request that anyone in attendance be ENM, considering ENM, or in a relationship with someone that is ENM. *Bringing a friend or family member with you (who is not ENM) with the intention of normalizing it, is allowed.

This group does our best to offer non- judgmental support and advice for those navigating this journey. There are no experts here with the “right” answer. What we offer is simply the benefit of our personal experiences and combined knowledge.

We facilitate a variety of events through out the year to help build connections and friendships.

*Please note that this environment is meant to be a safe space to learn about ENM and to build community, not a dating event. That being said, we do encourage organically formed relationships of all kinds, with enthusiastic consent of course.

With Kindness,

    Jennifer Evelyn

Appalachian Healing Collective

Healing happens whether we are offering it or receiving it!

Join us for these special events in which we gather and focus our healing intentions and modalities on one or two people at a time within a group dynamic/intelligence. Whether you offer instrumental sound, reiki, laying of the hands, song, voice/mantra/affirmations, or simply presence–you are the gift of healing someone needs or even requests! And in turn, you will receive what you need from the menagerie of gifts that appear for a minimum of twenty minutes.

As healers, many of us loveLoveLOVE to offer our gifts. Oftentimes, we don’t get or think to receive in turn. This is a profound opportunity to do both, while sinking/synching into sound, community, presence, and the ultimate unraveling of the Unknown!

We have instruments that you are welcome to play such as crystal bowls, drums, handpans, rainsticks, etc. We end with fellowship over food. We ask that you bring food to share if you’re inspired and it’s easy.

No previous healer/musical experience necessary.

We ask for a sliding scale donation of $25-$50.

Facilitated by Randi Janelle of Liminal Yoga and EarthHeart Healing and Wolfgang Ettenreich of The Luminous Now and Sound Voyagers.

Cheers,

Wolfgang & Randi

If you do not own a finger-style frame drum (which is played differently from a frame drum that is played with a mallet, stick, or tipper), please contact Brandi Mizilca at karunacaravan@gmail.com and she will provide one for you to play while at class.

Introduction To Ancestral Lineage Healing

Kitty Love is an Ancestral Lineage Healing practitioner certified by the Ancestral Medicine Network (Ancestralmedicine.org).

Join us on March 17th at 7 pm to learn more about what ancestral lineage healing can offer you and the planet. Touch in with your well ancestors and learn about what it means to build a healthy, reciprical relationship with them.

From time immemorial, until the present, humans have lived in deep relationship with their beloved dead and the myriad animated energies of the Earth. These relationships bring deep blessings, information about our place in the world and in time, and the tools necessary for the alignment of one’s path, healthy familial relationships, and for the well being of the world.

Ancestral Lineage Healing allows us to step out of the influence of traumatized past generations and into living these blessings on a daily basis.

If you’re interested in addressing generational and familial pain and trauma on your own behalf, on behalf of your family, and even the world, join us for an informal conversation and short meditation in order to understand how Ancestral Lineage Healing can be part of that journey.

Psychedelic Society of Asheville presents: Psychedelic Integration Circle

We invite you to gather with us in a safe, confidential, and supportive space to share, reflect, and connect with community.

Integration is a practice of intentionally slowing down, listening inward, and making meaning of our experiences so they can truly support and enrich our lives. Through integration, we can cultivate greater awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and patterns, allowing us to move through life’s changes with greater resilience, clarity, and compassion.

We are delighted to welcome Becca Marshall as our Psychedelic Integration Circle facilitator. Becca is an Integrative Psychotherapist, Aligned Living Coach, Psychedelic Integration Guide, and the founder of ActivXchange. Her work supports individuals navigating major life transitions, whether entering adulthood, stepping into leadership, or guiding others through healing and transformation, with grounded presence and deep care.

This ongoing circle is open to all whether you are simply curious, actively preparing for or integrating psychedelic experiences, or have been walking this path for some time. Our intention is to foster connection, shared wisdom, and mutual support within our ever-growing psychedelic community here in Asheville. All are welcome.

Please note that this is a sober gathering. To ensure the integrity and safety of our space, we do not permit the sale, purchase, or sourcing of any illegal substances or activities at our events. Anyone not honoring these guidelines will be respectfully asked to leave.

This gathering is offered with a suggested $10 donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Contributions help cover venue costs and support future offerings from the Psychedelic Society of Asheville.

Thank you for being part of this community and we look forward to gathering with you soon! ✨
