Singing for Catharsis: Fire & Divination
Registration: https://forms.gle/HGrtuebj8vNRL7rG8
Join us on Friday evening, June 7th for Singing for Catharsis! In Northwestern European traditions, June is the month of Midsummer, a celebration focused on fire and divination. Since the early middle ages, people at Midsummer have jumped and circled bonfires for protection, divined their futures, and harvested magical plants for their potency. At this event, we'll chant songs on these themes with opportunities to interact with the element of fire.

About Singing for Catharsis:
In this space, Saro Lynch-Thomason teaches easy-to-learn songs that we sing for extended periods of time to help us move into a place of catharsis/relaxation/oxytocin release/altered state that ritual chant has provided for countless people for thousands of years. After each song we take time to decompress and talk about our experiences. We will only explore a few songs, some for as long as an hour. Folks are welcome to take breaks during the songs if they need to.
