Join Saro Lynch-Thomason in Asheville, NC on Friday evening, August 30th for Singing for Catharsis! In traditions from the North Atlantic Islands (Ireland, Scotland and England), August heralds the first large grain harvests of the fall. Fruits and wild greens are also in abundance- and it's time to celebrate! At this event, we'll chant songs on themes of harvest and the ancient Irish celebration of Lúnasa- a festival marked by athleticism, peace & feasting all in honor of the god Lugh and his foster-mother Tailtiu. As always, we'll have a devotional, ritual component to our songs.
